Large Pepper Mill

The Large Pepper Mill
One of the great things about a large pepper mill is that you can go a long time between refills so there is a rare pit-stop for peppercorns.

It is also a great feature of any dining area for the chef or waiter to move from guest to guest or diner to diner asking would they like more pepper!

Many pepper mills and grinders come in a natural wood finish but others colours, including red, are also popular and would probably be part of a dining colour scheme.

It’s also a great talking point and adds fun and light conversation to any meal or dining experience.

More About A Mill and Grinder
Salt, pepper, and spice mills are basically exactly the same as coffee grinders however, they generally do not have a handle therefore  the whole top revolves instead. While this is not as convenient, only a couple of turns are required to grind enough pepper.

The ground product falls straight upon the food getting seasoned, the mill has no container.

A small number of mills have rough surfaces which don’t turn, each press of the grips moves just one flat plate against another, then the plates are returned to their first location by a spring.

Quite a few hard spices are on the market in containers including a straightforward cone burr grinder, designed to be thrown away when empty but the majority of mills can be altered to set the coarseness of grind.

A large pepper mill normally has a rotating head and the ground pepper can be adjusted for fineness.
